Acrylic cityscape landscape painting - New Jersey Sunset II
$375.00

The commotion in the center was too much, so I blocked it out and revamped my art piece. I added some new leaves, painted over the left side, and included a different sunflower bundle. Watercolor pencils are a lifesaver - you can easily correct mistakes. I'll put the finishing touches on it over the weekend. Tomorrow, I'll be delivering a few paintings to a residents home and photographing them, so it will be a busy day .

Starting to add color to the hands than will work on her work shirt later this week . I get asked often why I add colors for skin tones, simple answer is God created us ALL in different shades, tones , colors and we all bleed the same color. There is so much beauty among us as human beings , our hearts our very soul in his image. I choose to look at the beauty within us all and try to reflect that in my work . God does not discriminate nor does he teach it in his word so nor should we.
Genesis 1:27 states that “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

I gave new life to a drab brown cabinet, turning it into a colorful staple in my studio that's both functional and uplifting changing handles from plastic wood gives the cabinet a bit of class.
I enjoy upcycling furniture and have several pieces waiting for a makeover. My next project is a fantastic rocking chair that would be ideal for a girl's room.

Oh my goodness, we just spotted a ton of hummingbirds! I counted over 10 earlier and I'm obsessed with them and my butterflies!

Painting session done for today! Now it's all about preserving my neck and head from too much pain. Planning to sculpt some sunflowers 🌻 for this piece tomorrow, giving them time to dry while I work on other parts.

After an entire day in bed dealing with my occipital nueralgia pain yesterday which is very different and horrendous from my migraines, I feel human today to start on my sunflower girl. Have to wear my neck brace to work in 20 mint intervals.
I put in a call to my dr to see if there is anything else we can do for this even if I have to get a different set of injections nerve blockers to help me cope, this pain impedes me from driving when it hits and after getting a taste of my freedom back I don’t want to lose it . This keeps me indoors . So hopefully there will be a plan b for my occipital nueralgia. In the meantime I keep fighting I keep doing all of the things I can and trust God in the details cause I’m not giving up, I’m
Not quitting on getting my health back.

The power of our words
In my abstracts before the laying of paint I usually write words that are positive and encouraging and prayers with someone’s name as I pray for them , then the work begins playing with color , textures and pattern play .
In this piece, It’s about the power of our words. You see we all have the biggest opportunity before us to use this power to speak to one another in ways that will edify Ephesians 4:29: “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” Our speech should build up, encourage, and be a source of grace for others.
To be kind and compassionate to one another Ephesians 4:32: “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
The power of our words can be encouraging or destructive as Proverbs warns us of rash words. Proverbs 12:18: “ There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” This verse highlights the potential for words to wound deeply or to bring healing and comfort.
These verses, among others, demonstrate that words are not merely sounds, but powerful tools that can shape our lives and our relationships. Let us be mindful of the power of our words towards one another especially the words we speak to ourselves when we look in the mirror. You know the saying you are what you eat well you are what you speak, it reflects who you are, what you are about , the true condition of your heart that might require some examination and self reflection if all you can do with this power is use it for gossip and tearing down those around you .
Ephesians 4:32: “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Post-painting session studio tidy 🌻! Next up, sunflowers in 3D, loaded with texture and a sprinkle of 23k real gold leaf accents - my creative vision is all about the details!

This artwork measures 20×36 inches on canvas, featuring painted sides that provide a polished and finished look. It can be displayed as is, hung directly on the wall, or enhanced by framing in a shadow box style for added depth and protection. Please refer to the photo references for a clearer idea—this painting would look absolutely stunning when placed in a custom shadow box frame, which not only highlights but also safeguards the three-dimensional elements created by the real wooden branches embedded in the piece. The addition of a gold frame brings a vibrant and luminous quality to the center of the painting, beautifully complemented by a rich chocolate mat. This mat would be positioned along the inner edge of the frame, serving a practical purpose by holding the glass away from the textured, dimensional artwork beneath
